What are pipelines? Pipelines transport crude and refined products such as oil and natural gas all over the world. In the United States alone there are more than 200,000 miles of pipeline. These pipelines bring millions of gallons of oil and gas to distribution locations such as refineries and power stations. In the United States alone the pipelines across the country are 4 times longer then our highway network. It is the largest connection of pipeline in the world.
With such are large network of piping there are a large number of pipeline jobs available to maintain and expand the network. This is not just in the States pipeline jobs can
be found almost anyplace around the world. Giving you lots of job opportunities in many locations word wide. Pipelines have to cross some of the most remote areas on the globe that can include some very harsh environments. There are some benefits to this in that you can find work in most parts of the world if you decide to relocate.
There are a couple ways to get a pipeline job, you can be hired directly or a subcontractor. There are pro’s and con’s to both, you will want to wight the benefits to both before making the decision.
